Inbox is part of the School Connect portal. Private staffโadminโparent threaded messaging.
Who should use it: Super admin Admin principal proprietor head Teacher bursar Staff Teacher Parent Student. Admin/Super Admin may see management overviews, while non-admin roles only see pages relevant to their duties.
- Read this guide first so you understand the purpose of the page.
- Use + Add new only if your role is allowed to create records.
- Use Refresh, Export CSV or Export PDF for records and reporting.
- Ask the ๐ฌ assistant, or open Feature Guide, for a fuller explanation.
Recommended daily workflow:
1. Use Messages to compose to a person or audience. 2. The item appears in Inbox as an internal record. 3. Recipients open it from the dashboard live feed, notification bell, or Inbox page. 4. Staff mark it read/archived after action. 5. Complaints requiring formal action should be transferred/recorded on the Complaints page with a status trail.

๐ฌ In-App Inbox โ How the workflow works
- Compose: use the Messaging Centre or click + Add new here to write an internal message.
- Choose audience/recipient: staff can message parents, students and management; parents/students can send complaints or messages to school staff.
- Delivery: the message is saved in
module_recordswith moduleinbox, then a notification appears in the bell for permitted users. - Tracking: use status unread โ read โ archived to manage follow-up. Admin can audit all messages; other users see messages allowed by role/RLS.
